Founded in 2019, Under the Table has grown to be one of Boise’s premier supper clubs. UTT regularly hosts guests by the dozen for a specialty blind five-course dinner. Highlighting local ingredients that are humble and approachable, the team at Under The Table welcomes guests into the comfort of their own home, creating an experience unlike any traditional night out. Dinner guests are often strangers joining in a culinary celebration with the outcome of a local foodie community for adventurous eaters.
Copper & Heat is a podcast exploring the unspoken rules and traditions of restaurant kitchens through the stories of people that work in them. Independently produced in Portland, OR and Santa Barbara, CA. Copper & Heat challenges the exclusionary systems that cooks and chefs have been upholding for generations. We focus on issues that underpin and enable exclusion in the restaurant industry that many don’t. question. We’re focused on starting conversations with the people that are working through these issues in restaurant kitchens every day.
Following which new restaurants have opened and which ones are closing is kind of a cottage industry in Boise media. it’s good to step back and see what wider trends are going on in our food scene — and what it means for our community. Boise is playing catch-up when it comes to vegan options, with only one vegan restaurant and another in the works. In a town that loves meat and potatoes, we know finding plant-based options can be tough.
